Interpretation
-
Sequential interpretation
Sequential interpretation means that a speaker makes logical pauses during his speech thus giving the interpreter a possibility to transfer the things said in the foreign language. As a rule, sequential interpretation is used during the events where small quantity of members is present: negotiations, presentations, briefing, press conferences, workshops and trainings.
-
Simultaneous interpretation
The interpretation is called simultaneous if the interpreter speaks simultaneously with the speaker. The interpreter usually sits in a special cabin, and simultaneous interpretation is transmitted to the receivers given out to each member of the event. Simultaneous interpretation means provision with text materials. For the simultaneous interpretation to be successful, the interpreter has to study the area beforehand. Improvisation should be minimized.
